Can I hide a row with a formula?

Jeff

I am trying to bring values from one excel spreadsheet to another. I am
using an if formula and it brings back blank line that I would like to hide
on the second spreadsheet to tighten up the page. Can I hide a row using a
formula?

Hi Jeff

no, a formula can't hide a row... maybe once all the data is brought across
you can sort the sheet which will send all the blank rows to the end, or you
could run a macro to delete them.

You can use an AutoFilter to hide the rows with zeros, then create a
Custom View with the filtered rows:

AutoFilter the table (Custom Filter for 'does not equal' zero). There
are instructions in Excel's Help, and here:
http://www.contextures.com/xlautofilter01.html

Choose View>Custom Views
Click Add
Type a name for the Custom View, e.g. PrintNonZero
Check the box for 'Hidden rows, columns and filter settings'
Click OK

To print the worksheet, choose View>Custom Views, select the
PrintNonZero view, click OK

You can also create a Custom View with the Filter removed, and show that
after printing.
