can i load word 97 documents on MS 2003?

i was wondering, can i load my work from word 2003 onto an earlier version of
word, because my college works with 97 and i have 2003. does any1 kno?

When you create documents for college, go to the Save tab of Tools | Options
and choose "Disable features introduced after Word 97." You might also want
to set the Compatibility Options (Tools | Options | Compatibility) for those
documents to Word 97. This will ensure that your documents will open
smoothly in Word 97 and look (more or less) the way you intended. But see
