I bought Office 2003 earlier this year, but am now getting a new PC. Can I
move the license over to the new PC? From what I recall, when I originally
installed it the key only lasted 30 days?

If the product you bought was a RETAIL version then you can transfer it
to a new machine. Also, Office 2003 is allowed to be installed on two
systems - Desktop and Laptop but I doubt if MS is monitoring this. I
have installed on two desktops and it worked!.

If you have an OEM then you can't transfer it. However there are people
who say that GENERIC OEM versions are as good as RETAIL versions and
that you can transfer it if you want to. I have not done this nor have
I seen any MS documents about this.

You must activate your product within 30 days; Generally online is
easier but sometimes you may need to use the toll-free number you get on
the activation screen.

Thank you... the version I bought was direct from MS, but through my company.
I will give it a try once the new PC arrive.
I appreciate your help!

If it is a company purchase and the company has a standard "site" license
with MS then you should have no problem with installing on a new company
computer. Check with whoever is in charge with this company license.
