Can I prevent a presenter from going back to previous slides?

Hi,

Is there any way to prevent a presentor from showing back slides? I mean,
the presenter can only advance slides forward, never showing already shown
slides.

Use Slide Show > Set up show to set the show to "Browsed at a Kiosk" and
ONLY provide "next slide" hyperlink buttons

Hi John and thank you for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately that's not an option.
This is to be used on a live conference show where I'll be handed the
several presenter's presentations a few moments before they will step up to
the stage. Each presentation will run simultaneously on 2 PCs, the
presenter's (the one connected to the room's projector) where he will be
able to do whatever he wants as far as navigation is concerned and a second
one which is also being controlled by the presenter but where I am recording
the presentation (audio and slide changes).
It's on this second PC (the one recording the presentation) that I must
disable backward slide navigation because If slide's 3 audio has already
been recorded and the presenter gets back to it, the new audio will erase
what's already been recorded. Thus, If the presenter gets to a previous
slide, I want the audio to continue to be recorded on the slide with the
highest index number.

Disabling menus and functions is always difficult. If people WANT to find a
way around it, they WILL. Assuming they are all adult people - explain it
to them, as you explained it to us. If they KNOW, why they should not go
back, they hopefully will stick to it. Inform them some days in advance by
mail, so that they can change their presentation accordingly and remind them
shortly before they start and place a sign on their table saying "Don't go
back!".

Hi Simon, thank you for replying!

What you suggest would be a last option to take into consideration. I'd
really not like to limit the presenter's options...they're often nervous
enough for being on stage I wouldn't like to impose them another rule.
Presenter's should be allowed all the freedom they want after all it's
THEIR presentation. Making sure their performance is properly recorded it's
MY job and I shouldn't have to impose them boundaries.
But, having said this, it's an option!
