Can no longer edit charts

Hi,
I have one presentation that contains multiple charts that I have always
been able to edit. Now whenever I double-click on them I get the error
message that the server application cannot be found. Anyone know what is
going on? My other charts in other files are still okay. I am using
PowerPoint 97.
