Can No Longer Save to CD RW Disk

K

Ken

For two months, no problem in saving my Word documents
directly onto to RW disk. Now, all of a sudden, the
program doesn't allow me access. It is not a hardward
problem. Any ideas?

Thanks so much.

You shouldn't save a document directly to any type of removable media. It is
the number 1 cause of document corruptions. Always save to the HDD and then
burn or copy to the removable media. Word has to create temporary files in
the active directory and if it cannot create these and overwrite them and
then remove them when it needs to close, it will corrupt the document and
possibly cause Word to crash and corrupt the normal.dot.

You may wish to reformat your cd. I had this problem only
to find out that you cannot rewrite over your cd's
several times. It has something to do with the reading
device. Put in a new cd and try that.
