Can visio objects be used in a powerpoint presentation

I was hoping to use individual objects rather than the whole diagram so I
could integrate them into other drawings on the PP page. It sounds like this
is not possible.

Well you can paste the individual elements from Visio into PowerPoint, but
you need to manually work them in to your PowerPoint elements.
