I'm not sure we both mean the same thing by the word "attach", but the
answer is generally yes.
If you want to place an icon in a Word file, so that when you
double-click it you get another Word file, then do this:
On the Insert menu, click Object. In the dialog, click the Create From
File tab. Check the box for "Display as icon". If you're going to send
this document-in-a-document to someone else, *do not* check the box
for "Link to file". Browse and select the document you're going to
"attach," then click OK.
If you just want to drop a copy of the text of the second file into
the body of the first one, instead use the Insert > File command.
