can you stop word from automatically repaginating

I write a lot of VBA mcaros that manipulate entire documents with tables,
graphics and so forth. Most of the time I would like it to repaginate only
when it is finished manipulating the content. Is there a way to turn off
repagination completely using VBA code -- or otherwise, and turn it back on
again after the macro finishes?

Nope, but you can reduce it triggering by using an invis doc, setting
some options etc.
