Cannot change font color or apply design templates

PCook

I am running office 2000 on XP pro.... I recently upgrade to XP pro from Xp
home, and since then I cannot change the color of fonts I have in
presentations of mine, whether it is a new presentation or re-visiting old
presentation and trying to change the font color there... Even if I try to
apply a design template, powerpoint acts like it applies the template but it
just appears blank and white afterwards.... All text (only in black) and
color images I have placed throughout the presentations show up fine, just
that I loose all background colors, design templates or font colors I try to
apply.... What did I do??? What can I do???? What happened? Any help is much
obliged.

First, I would recommend that you run Detect and Repair from the Help menu. You
will need your CD probably, so locate it first.

Second, do you have Service Pack 3 installed? If not, go to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx and click on Check for Updates.

Office 2000 runs fine on Windows XP Pro, but while you're updating I hope you've
applied the available Service Packs for it too.

Have you tried playing the presentation in slide show mode after making the
changes? Does it also show without the changes?

I think you have one of the accessibility options turned on in your Windows
Control Panel. Go to Start/Control Panel/Accessibility. On the Display tab,
deselect High Contrast.

Thank you...That did it... That never happened before, so probably when I did
my whole XP pro update alongwith all my Office Updates (incl. SP3) it must
have changed that option.... You guys(and gals) are good...Thanks for all
your assistance.
