Cannot change printing prefrences through Word 2003

I am a Power User on my local machine. I can change all of the HPLaserJet
4050 printing driver prefrences through printers and faxes. When I open a
document in Word 2003 and need to change printer settings from here, I have
blue exclamation marks by many of these options (such as editing a
watermark). Is there a workaround for this?

That isn't normal. I can only guess that this is a permissions problem.
Maybe the printer or Word were installed whilst a user was logged in rather
than the Administrator.
