Cannot deleted messages from Inbox

On selected messages when I try to delete them I get the
following message:

The item could not be deleted. It was either moved or
already deleted, or access is denied.

What happened or how do I remove these messages?

Running Outlook 2002 SP-2 Level

is it a hotmail inbox?
you get that message it outlook got disconnected to the server that happens
very too often?
you have to go to file connect to hotmail then once reconnected try deleting
the email again.
