Cannot install Office Ultimate 2007

Please let someone know the answer to this...
I am trying to install the above on my PC running windows XP.
As soon as I start the installation it goes wrong and I get the blue screen
of death saying "BAD POOL HEADER Stop: 0x19 (0x20, 0xE16F7000, 0xE16F7D58,
0x1FAB1FAB)"

I tried the support team for Microsoft XP and they said it was an office
problem and wouldn't help. I then tried the support team for Microsoft Office
and they didn't recognise my PID number (I typed in the licence key number as
I couldn't find any PID number).

Please help! Huge thankyous in advance!

More info... I sometimes get this "blue screen of death" message instead:

Stop: 0x8E (0xC0000005, 0x8054C0B9, 0xF4E2598C, 0x0)

Thanks.

Blue screens (gad, how long since I have seen one of those) usually indicates a bad driver that causes the crash.

Try updating all of your video, keyboard, mouse, sound, etc. drivers (be sure to include your external items like printers and scanners) and then retry your installation. After installing the latest drivers, reboot to ensure a fresh session.

Hi. All my drivers are up to date - I totally wiped my hard disk and started
again about a month ago.

And you do have XP SP 2 or later installed correct? 2007 will only install
with SP2 or later for Windows XP.

Hi J.C.,

Bad Pool Header problems can be a bit of a pain to track down :)

It could be that something (a driver, even if 'current') or a program and Win XP SP3 are not compatible, but it can also indicate a
device/hardware problem, sometimes a bad memory chip for the PC or a graphics card that doesn't show up as a problem until it's
'pushed' too hard.

Have you installed or upgraded anything else recently, including hardware or driver upgrades?

Can you copy the Office DVD to your hard drive then install from there?

The Product ID is the code for the installed software, so you may need to contact Microsoft directly by phone if the online form
only allows for a Product ID code.

==================
Yep I have a legit version of XP Home edition version 2002 with service pack 3.>>

Thanks Bob, I will try what you said.
I did install a DVD drive recently...
I've only installed 2 other programs on this pc so I will un-install them
then try it again. Then I'll try copying the CD to the HD.

Thanks!

I've got it to work!!!! :)

Not sure which of the following sorted it, but this is what I did:
Uninstalled Quick Time (it was the only other program installed)
Copied the contents of the Office DvD onto my harddisk (Note that I could
only do this in Safe mode, in normal mode I got the BSOD).
Ran the installation from my harddisk in normal mode - All worked!

Thanks for all your help!
JC.

No, but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that you're trying to
install it the way you are.
