Cannot Install Two New 2003 Post-SP1 Updates

I've tried running Office Update and running full file versions but the
installation fails. The files downloaded fine but will not install. I am
referring to updates KB885828 and KB891067. Any help would be greatly
appreciated! Thanks.

Error message is: "Error 2902. An internal error has occurred.
(ixfAssemblyCopy) Contact your Information Technology department for
assistance."

Looks like there's a KB article that reflects this case:

You receive an "Error 2902. An internal error has occurred" error message or
an "Installation unsuccessful" error message when you install an Office 2003
update on a computer that has Windows Installer 3.0 installed
