Can you please follow you original post where you have already posted this
issue and you did get answers earlier. Multiposting is not a very good idea.

Like I suggested to you in your original post that the Trial version was not
completely removed. Your msiexec.exe that is now resident in your System32
is from the Trial version of Office 2003. When you are trying to install the
Office 2000 suite then the installation is reading the msiexec.exe of Office
2003

wasn't sure which category of the thousands to post on.
Is this suggestion somehow implicit in your statement? :
1. find msiexec.exe on the original Office2000 Cd (if possible),
2. copy it over the file of the same name now residing on c:\windows\system32

Is that what you are saying?
