Cannot open attachments from saved emails.

When my staff save an email as an Outlook email message format and it has an
attachment (word for example), then they attempt to re-open the email and
then open the attachment they get an error saying "The operation failed. An
object could not be found". I have found a workaround and that is to save the
email as a template, but it is very frustrating. Has anyone else seen this
and if so has anyone resolved it?
