cannot open shapes properties with Visio std 2007

Whatever I do (double-click, right click then go to properties, access the
properties from the menu shape) I cannot open properties of any shape in
Visio. Actually it's like Visio ignoring my action.

very frustrating indeed.
Any clue ?

I wonder if it might be that the window is opening but somehow it is
offscreen.
menu Window -> tile.

I tried your suggestion but that didn't change anything. The property
windows just not show up.

What shape, stencil and template are you using?

....and when you say 'nope' to View / Shape Data Window (Custom Properties in
2003) do you see any change at all in the UI, and is the menu item checked?

If the Shape Data Window is not opening or closing at all, then there is
something corrupt in the program. Repair or reinstall is the best course of
action.

If the Shape Data Window is opening but not showing information, then you
need to look carefully at the selected shape (possibly by going to Window >
Show Shapesheet) to understand what shape data exists on the shape.
