Cannot reload Office 2000 upgrade

I have Office 2000 upgrade version, with original CD and product key. I
uninstalled from my computer due to some problems loading Word and Excel
files, with the intention of reinstalling. Now when I try to reinstall, I
get the "could not find any previously installed compliant products for
installing this product" message. I obviously was able to install Office
from this CD on this computer previously, don't know why I cannot now. The
computer came with Works suite preinstalled, which is supposed to be one of
the compliant products for upgrade. I did try the "look on C drive" option
since that is where Works resides. Why can't I reinstall?

Yes, thanks, I had just found that article, and Works IS shown as a
qualifying product. There is a note that says "contact tech support if the
upgrade version does not recognize", so I guess I'll go that route unless
anyone has a suggestion. Hopefully I won't be out the $35 tech support
charge....

Hi, Tim, Did you ever figure out how to upgrade? I'm in the same situation,
and over in the office setup discussion group, I've run into a customer
"service" rep with a bad attitude and no answers.
