This all started yesterday when i resceived and "Update for Outlook 2003:
Junk E-mail Filter (KB916521): OUTLFLTR.
When trying to open a document ireceived a message that my MS Office word
needs to be repaired. So I followed the steps to repair. it did not work.
I have tried every KB out under the sun to fix it. From clean boot to
registery.
I got so desparate that I reloaded MS Office 97 to see if i could access any
of my Office Documents this is now what I am receiving:
Senario -
When Opening, for example a Word Document the Windows Inxstaller comes up
and says: "The featrure you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable disk that is not available" (Note: CD-ROM did die 3 weeks ago and
was replaced with a new one in the same location and drive letter) "Insert
the "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003" disk and click OK" The User
Source states "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003"
I place the CD in and select "OK" I receive the following pop-up: "The
path "Microsoft Professonal Edition 2003" cannot be found. Verify that you
have access to this loaction and try again, or try to find the installation
package "PRO11N.MSI" in a folder from which you can load the product
Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003" I select OK, browse to the CD,
there is not a "PRO11N.MSI" on the cd, but a "PROI11N.MSI". When I select it
the prompt comes up and states: "The File "E:\PROI11N.MSI" is not a valid
installation package for the product Microsoft Office Professional Edition
2003. Try to find the installation package "PRO11N.MSI" in a folder from
which you can install Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003" The
"PRO11N.MSI" does not exist on the CD.
At this point I am open to any suggestions. All my so-called MS friends
cannot figure it out either, one suggested I FDISK the whole computer and
start over.
Anything but that would be of great help......
Thanks
