Cannot Send Attachments over 1mb

I cannot send attachements over 1mb. I constantly
receive a message that the server has timed out. I have
increased the server timeout to 10 minutes, but that
hasn't made any difference. Any ideas?

Does your ISP have a limit on size of attachments?

.
My ISP has an 8mb limit, however the files I am trying
to send fall well within that limit. Today I tried to
send a 3mb file. When I go to my ISPs webmail interface I
can send the same attachment without a problem.

I suspect the timeout is occuring on your server (rather than your workstation)
so you should contact your mail administrator to see if he/she has any
suggestions for resolving the problem.

What version of Outlook are you using?

Not too surprising considering that most ISPs have a 1 MB or less limit on
sent mail.

I share a variation of this writer's problem. Large
attachments remain in my outbox, and result in the
generation of a time out error message. However, they
actually do get sent, and sent and sent! The problem is
that Outlook does not perceive them to have been sent, and
hence both generates the error message, and resends every
time I click send and receive.

Suggestions?
