Cannot sync with pocket PC

I have not been able to synchronize my pocket pc after
previously having been able to do this. I've upgraded
ActiveSync to 3.7.1 and when I try to connect the message
is "Device not detected" Nothing I do seems to help. The
USB drivers are working properly. Any ideas??
