Can't Close Archive

Windows 2k. Outlook 2k. I have opened an archive file
(one that I have used in the past) but now I can't close
it! When I try I get "The message inerface has returned
an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart
Outlook." It does. I did. Nothing changed!
Any help would be appreciated.
