Can't convert pictures

I just bought an 8mp digital camera, and Publisher 2000
can't convert them into a picture frame. Do later versions
of Publisher accept these larger pictures? Thanks! (Would

Hard to tell from the scant info you provided, but are you downloading
the pictures from your camera to your computer and saving them, then
trying to import them?

Just curious - what kind of a camera did you get? I didn't know there
was an 8 mp camera available. What kind of zoom does it have? How many
photos can it store and on how large of a memory stick?

the camera or ...........? What kind of file size are you talking about?

Oh yeah...you can purchase an 8MP digital camera.
They come in real handy when you need to print pictures
the size of a pickup truck. Best quality .jpgs would
probably average 2.5 to 3MP each.

Publisher 2000 and below decompress pictures on import, so large JPGs become
HUUUUUUGE BMPs.
Publisher 2000 and below do not accept pictures with a decompressed filesize
of 16MB or more.
Thus Publisher 2000 and below will now accept pictures from an 8MP digital
camera at max resolution.
(According to my estimates, if 24-bit images are used then the highest
resolution Publisher 2000 and below will import are from a 5.5MP camera.
32-or-more-bit images will decrease that figure)

Post-Publisher-2000 versions sort this out a treat.
