Can't delete subprojects

D

Darryl

a co-worker is using Project Standard 2003 (standalone)

1 Master Project with multiple sub-projects inserted
separate, shared resource pool

Cannot remove a sub-project. Even by moving the
sub-project file to a differnt directory, the sub-project
remains inserted in the Master Project (no details, and it
prompts for the location).

We had upgraded from Project 98 a few months ago, but the
Master Project and Resource Pool were re-built from
scratch. Some of the sub-projects (most?) are conversions.

every now and then, he can remove a task but I don't know
what (if anything) he is doing different

Thanks

Darryl,

I'm just wondering if you have tried (because you don't say), in the
master project file, to select the subproject, then press the delete
key. This deletes the link to the "inserted" project file, but not the
file itself. Simply deleting the file won't remove the link.

Tried both the delete key and right-click delete.

I had this problem too. I finally ended-up creating a
whole new Project File & copied-pasted the task lines I
wanted to keep (but not the 'inserted sub-project' task
line). This probably isn't the best way to do this - but
its all I was able to do to get it to work.

I was not able to remove the inserted subproject either. I created a new file and copied and pasted only what I wanted and not the subproject

Possibly - I get the same! I've reported it to MS
