Can't disable autofit text

M

Martha

I am using Powerpoint 2002. I can't seem to disable AutoFit text title.
When I paste a title text box in 1 file into a slide in another file, the
title text boxes keep getting autoformatted into a different font & size.
I've made sure that the 2 AutoFit boxes are unmarked and I've restarted the
application, but I still get the autoformatting of my text .

Click on Tools | Auto Corect Options... | Autoformat As You Type | Remove
the checkmark from Automatic layout for inserted objects.

from one Martha to another...

When you paste your text into the text box do you get the little clipboard
icon which gives you the paste options? if so, just select keep text only
(the other option being Keep source formatting).

Hi MarthaH,

I don't see a little clipboard come up. FYI, I'm not posting text into a
text box, but rather pasting the contents of an entire slide, which includes
numerous graphics & text boxes.

Then why not Insert...Slides from files...
When the Slide Finder dialog box comes up, make sure the Keep source
formatting box is unchecked.

That way the slides are inserted into your presentation and assume its
formatting, rather keeping the formatting of the 'donor' presentation.

Does this help?
