Can't Download Updates from Office Website

A

Anthony Smith

Good Afternoon,

We're running WinXP SP2 and Office 2003. I can't download updates from the
office update page. I tried visiting the website and checking for updates,
it finds the updates but when it goes to install the updates, it doesn't
download the update but reports the installation was unsuccessful.

I need to install the SP2 for Office 2003 and the junk email filter. I tried
going to the downloads page also and downloading the client file but it
tells me page not found when I click on it. I tried the other file
KB887616-FULLFILE but it tells me page not found also.

I can run updates from the Windows update page with no problems. But the
office update page nor none of the office files I can download. Can anyone
help?

We are using VOIP for our internet connection. Our net connection sometimes
is a little slow. We are planning on switch back to DSL or T1 and dropping
this VOIP. Do you think this has anything to do with it? Because sometimes
when I visit other websites that I know are active, it'll say page not
found, then when I hit refresh it will load. Please advise.

Hi Anthony,
It sounds to me like you have a DNS issue. At least with regard to your
receiving intermittent 404 errors.
Concerning your Office software, is this happening on more than just one
machine?
How did you originally install the Office software...was it from a shared
Network installation point or by installing from CD on the local machine?
