Can't enable custom dictionary

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

When a new word that I want to add to the dictionary comes up, I follow the "options" prompt and choose the custom dictionary. Yet it still stays gray on Entourage and I can't add to the dictionary.

Using Tiger MS Office 2008.

Thanks!

Hi Randy,

See if you can locate a file named Custom Dictionary in the
Main/Users/[your user name]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/
folder. If you find it there, try selecting that file by clicking the
"Dictionaries" button in the Entourage Preference pane under Spelling.

Hui Nee Chin,

Thanks for replying.

I found the dictionary where you suggested.

I click on options, find the dictionary, click select and then OK. When I then want to "add" a word to the custom dictionary the word "add" is still gray and I am forced to hit "ignore" when I want to add.

Hi Randy,

After you added the dictionary, try re-launching Entourage. After you've
re-launched Entourage, go to Preferences > Spelling and check if the
dictionary has been added successfully.

Did you do a standard installation of Office 2008 or did you do a custom
installation?
