cant exit design mode

I have a form in word with fields. I can protect it and save it as a
template. However, when I try to open the template I get the following error.

Cant exit design mode because control 'Textbox11134314' can not be created.
There is no text box by that name on the form, however I can go into the vb
editor and it is listed.
How do I find the object to delete/replace it?
