Can't import from old "Messages" file after re-install??

I recently re-installed OE5 on my Mac using OS9.1. Before doing so, I
removed the ³Messages² file (432mb) from the Main Identity folder. I then
re-installed the software, and then replaced the new ³Messages² file with
the old one, but all of my old messages and addresses will not show up? I
have tried using the Import feature from OE5, but it will not recognize the
file when I try to browse for it.

Any suggestions?
