Can't insert animated clipart...?

Samantha

Of course this happens when I HAVE to work on a presentation, right?

I'm trying to insert clip art from the library into a presentation. Works
ok for still art, but when I try to insert an animation, I get an error
message saying, "PowerPoint coulnd't create a picture from the specified
file." This worked fine last time I used it (not sure when that was). Any
idea what went wrong or how I can fix it?

(Heaven only knows when one of our IT guys will show up...)

Thanks in advance!!!

Incidentally, I did try the fix from MS, to delete the Temporary Internet
Files. No luck. I also used the disk cleanup utility. Still no go... :(

Which PowerPoint version do you use? Animated GIFs only work in PowerPoint
2000 or newer, not in PPT 97.

How do you insert the picture? Try finding out the file name and use
Insert - Image - From file instead of Insert - ClipArt.

Best regards,

Thanks, Ute. I'm using PPT 2003. This is perplexing because it worked fine
last time I used PPT (within the last week or two). After I posted this, we
realized that someone else in my office is having the same problem, so it may
well be a network issue. Not sure... But when I get back Monday, I'll try
the workaround.

Thanks again...
