Can't install Acces 97 or Office 97 on Windows XP.

If you are/were able to install the CD ship version of Office 97, it probably
would not run until you installed the two Office 97 patches called SR1 and
SR2. As you can not even install the factory CD version, I am at a loss.
If you are desperate, you might try unistalling XP-SP2, and try again.
Hopefully someone "in the know" will give you a clear answer.
For me, I bought Server 2003 and I can not install Office 2000, and I've
had no luck in finding an answer (i have a post about 7 above yours). The
joke (on MS) is that I was able to install Office 97 after adding the 2 SR's.
I can't wait to hear MS say you can not install Office 2000 due to security
issues... LOL....but Office 97 is OK. I don't have the money to upgade 5
users to Office 2002, so I guess I'm out $700 because by the time I have the
upgrade money, Server 2003 will probably be obsolete.

I feel your pain,
Frank

That does not solve the isue...
As the setup is a Windows based application and the fact that I allready
have copyed all the complete CD on to the harddrive. This is an
compatibility problem I guese... Cuas XP tells me so. It's a .tbl file that
is not compatible with XP.. At least it says so.

Is there any way to tell XP, that it should run ALL application in
95/08/ME/2000 compatible mode? If so.. How do I do so????

Thanks in advance.
