can't install Office 2000 on Server 2003

Frank Babz

When trying to install Office 2000 on Server 2003 I immediately am told:
"CD-ROM is from an older version of windows than the one you are presently
using...."

What's up?
Thanks,
Frank

Per article 305521. I expanded Config.nt, autoexec.nt, and command.com and
retried unsuccessfully to install office 2000 (same msg). While my system is
running OK, it now takes much much longer to boot and get to the desktop.
Along the way there was a brief warning during post that my SATA Raid drives
were deteriorating, an auto reset, but it struggled through to desktop.
Wondering if I should complete the rest of the stuff in article 30521??? I
think I may soon self-destruct WS03, but without a fix I got a bigger problem.
:) Frank talking to himself :)

Just in case, thought I'd mention that I successfuly installed Office 97 and
SR1 and SR2 before attempting to install Offce 2000. Office 97 Aps seem to
work just fine. Wonder if Office 97 stuff damaged WS03 ????
:) nice taling to myself again :)
