Can't open PP 2002 file after Serious Error message

D

Dandydon

While using PP 2002, a "Serious Error" message appeared on 3 occasions,
following which the application closed and I was unable to reopen the file.
Oddly enough, it will open read only with the PP Viewer. What caused it, how
can I open the file for edit and how can I keep this from happening again?
I'm running XP Pro.

Help!

Hi,

I guess the first thing is to go to the Help menu and try "Check for
Updates". Things often get fixed, and that is how you get access to them.
Also, if it crashes, do you get the option to submit an error report? If you
sent it, while connected to the internet, you may get advice back on an
update, as well.

Also, if you have an example of a file in a format before it got corrupted,
and an example of a later corrupted one, I would be happy to have a look at
them. Please advise if you are able to send them, and particularly how big
they might be.
