Can't open this item

we have a user with a recurring meeting that can't be deleted. When we try
to open the item, we get "Can't open this item." If we try to change the
subject in calendar view, we get "Could not save item." If we try to move
it, we get "The item may not have been deleted correctly. If someone sent
you the item, that person's copy of the item may not be updated."

We logged into WebAccess to try and delete it there, but nothing shows up in
the user's calendar, even though has has several appointments.

Have you tried opening Outlook with the /cleanreminders switch?
