Can't open .txt message attachments

For some reason lately, I am unable to open email people
send me with txt attachments. I see the attachment but it
is greyed out kind of and when I click on it to open
nothing happens. I have check all over. Any suggestions/

What version of Outlook are you using and is it a workplace installation on a Microsoft Exchange Server? TXT attachments should not normally be blocked. Are the attachments visibly included with the messages? Also, is the TXT attachment actually displayed from within the message inside Outlook? That is to say, does the attachment appear in its opened form from within the message, itself?
