Can't Print from Ppt

H

Heath Wickline

I've been unable to print (or make pdfs) from powerpoint, and have
been getting the message "There was a printing problem. You may have
to print again or adjust your printer settings", which is of course
extremely unhelpful. I've seen a few other people here and tried the
solutions mentioned in responses to them, including:

1. Updating my Office X version to 10.1.5 (which is the latest I
believe)
2. Repairing Disk Permissions
3. Downloading the latest driver for my Printer (An HP 2200) from the
hp site.

Does anyone have any ideas on something else to try?

My machine is a powerbook g4 867 with 764 mb of ram. The really
annoying thing is that our imac , running 10.2.8, prints powerpoints
just fine. Filesharing files over there every time i want to print is
just getting a little old is all. Finally, the powerbook has never
been able to print, even when it was running 10.2.8 as well.

Any ideas? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Heath,

In order to print you need to have a printer installed, and although this
seems obvious it also seems that it might be that there is no printer
available in your OSX print settings.

Look in your OSX Applications folder for the Utilities folder and then find
Print Center. Open Print Center and see if you do in fact have a printer to
use. If there is not one, the click Add. If there is one, perhaps it is
not set up properly. Try clicking Add to add your printer again (or delete
the one that's there and then click Add).

Once your computer has a printer to use then PowerPoint can print and create
PDF files for you.
