Can't quit powerpoint as a server app

When I use ppt as a server app through vb I am unable to
release the app with either the application.quit method or
by setting the application object reference to nothing.

Any help very much appreciated.

As a general caveat: PowerPoint isn't intended for use as a server app.

Have you tried both? That is, .Quit first, then set the reference to
nothing?

As Steve suggested, Quit then set to nothing. See in Shyam's example.
