Can't re-install Power Point 2000

Had to re-install Windows 98 second edition. No problem.

Removed and re-installed Micorsoft Office 2000 twice. Go
to run Power Point. No way. Message says "The Windows
Installer failed to install the program associated with
this file. Please contact your system administrator." This
is a home computer, not part of a network. Help!!

Hi,

The only thing I could find for Win 98 was the following. But it looks yuk,
and I'd suggest you have a very careful read to make sure it is what you are
experiencing before trying to do what it says. The error message is close,
but it is not exactly the same as you posted here:

I also looked at Office 2000 and didn't come up with much.
