Can't recover corrupted .pst file

My local inbox got corrupted and gives a message "Run
Mailbox Repair Tool". While running the tool
(scanpst.exe) it fails in phase 7 (of 8) and the program
terminates. Can anyone suggest how can I recover the
file? I have some critical mails in the maibox and need
to fix it.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
