Can't remove "Header Status" from Outlook 2003 inbox view

I have no need of the "Header Status" field in my Outlook 2K3 inbox view. I
have removed it by dragging it off the view, right-clicking and removing it
and going through the 'Customize Current View...' menus and all remove it
fine... until I reboot and there it is again. Obviously not a huge issue, but
the annoyance this is causing me is out of all proportion to the issue at
hand.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer - is there a way of
removing this permanently?
