I received a ppt presentation as an attachment. I cannot see the slide
content but when I pull up the attachment at Kinko's machine I can view it.
Help please! Presentation due on 2-8-05!

I sure wish you would give more information, like the version of PowerPoint you
have and what version the presentation was created with. How are you trying to
open it? What happens when you do that?

We aren't sitting at your system, so it's pretty hard to "guess".

I am using Office 2000 loaded on a laptop that came with Windows XP. My file
is coming from someone with the EXACT same set up on a laptop. I canopen the
file just fine, but there are many slides missing content. They are slides
with heavy graphics.

the "simple" slides are all there ....

Is there some way to check the maximum file size my system is allowing to
open?

I forgot to answer one of your questions: I have PowerPoint open when I
download the file, then I open it through the PowerPoint, not directly from
the email download box.

It could be a number of things. Have you done some system housekeeping lately?
Clean out your Temp folder, clean out the Recycle bin, defrag the hard drive.
You might also need to update your video driver and/or lower hardware
acceleration.

Is this graphic really embedded? If it's only linked, you can only see it,
if you have the linked files (image files, Excel tables, etc.) also. Is
PowerPoint asking to update links when opening the file?

Kind regards,
Ute

There are no linked files .... I can open this file using another computer at
Kinko's. I'm suspicious that somehow there is a limit on size of file that
my laptop will open with PowerPoint but I do not know how to see if that is
possibly the issue. The file itself is not the problem since I have opened
it and printed it at Kinko's with no trouble. I saved it to a CD but can't
open that on my laptop either.

I'm getting desperate to figure this out as I can't earn a living without
being able to get files opened on PowerPoint .... I can open everything else
that comes to me on other software.

Thank you for your help

Temp folder is empty. Recycle bin is empty. I lowered hardware accleration
all the way and still no go.

Is there some setting on my PowerPoint software that could limit the size of
file I can open/save? This file is large, but I have had larger files in
other applications without any problems including Word.

It is not the file ... I have opened it on another machine and printed it,
then saved to a CD and still cannot open on this laptop. Growing more
frustrated by the hour.

Thank you for your help.
