Can't send email

N

Trying to set up verizon email in outlook 2002. When I configure the
address and try test message it give error message about checking email
address. I have it set up correctly to include requiring authentication. I
can receive email just fine. When I had Comcast I had no problems at all.
Uninstalled my virus program thinking it might be that but it wasn't. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

I've used Verizon for years with no problems. If your only problem is with
"sending" (and not receiving) then it almost has to be with your 'outgoing'
smtp name, or your authentication setup.

Of course, to test and verify that things are correct on Verizon's side,
there are documented ways to go to a DOS command prompt and open a telnet
port for SMTP or POP3.
