Can't Send or Receive Emails

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Since yesterday afternoon, I have not received emails into my entourage account. Now I am realizing that I can't send emails out either. When I send an email I get an error message that says...
Error: HTTP error. The server is temporarily unable to fulfill the request
Explanation: Mail could not be sent.

Has anyone seen this before or help in anyway. Thanks in advance.

what type of account? Exchange, or hotmail?

this may well be a temporary glitch - is sounds like the server is
having problems. Wait a day or so and see if it fixes itself.
