Outlook will not communicate with my hotmail service. I
have played with the settings from where they used to be
and followed the advice of Hotmail Help. Which has gotten
me a second Hotmail folder "Hotmail 1" that doesn't work
either.
I am using Optonline cable service modem and cable. A LAN
I suppose.
I get a message that Outlook is unable to connect to
outgoing SMTP email server and told to contact the server
administrator, easier said than done apparently.
It also questions if my port and SSL settings are correct
and directs me to Advanced (yeah right) settings without
telling me what would be the correct settings once I get
their.
How do I eliminate the second Hotmail folder?
How do I get the first to work again as it was?
Also, this all happened after the blackout in the Eastern
US. Could this be causal rather than coinicidental?
Thank You,
