Captions

I'm using a pre-built template within a document. I'm also using a lot of
tables with captions.

My problem is that all of the captions appear with a preceding bullet e.g.
"* Figure 1". But I don't want the bullet and I can't see how to get rid of
it.

Can anyone help?

It would appear that the Caption style has become bulleted. Open Format |
Style, find Caption, and remove the numbering (Modify | Format | Numbering).
