I am creating a brochure. How do I CENTER the text box (not text) inside of
the columns or boundary lines?

Create a rectangle the width/height of the column (use the Snap
feature), position the object you want centered so that it lies within
the rectangle, then select both the object and the rectangle and Align
Center/Middle (on the Arrange > Align/Distribute menu).
