Change Default Printer

I have been trying to use some code provided by Albert Kallal from the
printch2k sample database. It works great but gets hung up on the
SendMessage command. If I don't use the command, I end up without a default
printer set. I'm using Access 2000 on Windows XP. Do I need to change the
SendMessage command for XP? Thanks in advance

does it just not do anything? Or does the code hang?

As far as I can tell, the default printer IS set, but the printer settings
display does not show that default printer...

As mentioned, I think there is a default printer...it just don't display as
such...

I never found a workaround for this problem....

I always just tried setting the printer back to whatever it was...and that
usually leaves the 'default' printer intact. For some reason on some
machines the default printer icon don't change...but, I quite sure the
default printer is set.....

Thank you for replying and thank you for the printch2k code. It is so much
easier to understand and to use than other code I've seen.

When I execute the SendMessage command, the cursor turns to the timer and
then does nothing. I have to cntrl-alt-del to get out. I tried PostMessage
and it does the same.

After testing, I see as you said that the default printer does remain
intact. It works for as long as I'm in Access. But when I exit and try to
print a Word Doc, it can't find a printer. I can work around this. Thank
you.
