Change Ppt Templates to backrounds?

Can PowerPoint presentation templates be converted to backgrounds? How?

It's probably not the best way, but it works:

Apply the template, then start the slideshow. Press the Print Screen button
on your keyboard. Open up Paint and paste. Crop the picture as necessary, and
save it as a picture.

I'd create a blank slide based on the template then File | Save As and
choose PNG. This will save a PNG of the blank slide -- which should be just
the background.
