Change Reminder Before Accepting an Invitation

In Outlook 2003, when you opened an invitation, one of the toolbar items was
the Reminder command, and you could change its settings before saving the
invitation to your Calendar.

Now, in Outlook 2007, you must first accept the invitation, then go find the
item in the Calendar, open it up and then you are able to change the
reminder. Sometimes this can be difficult if the invitation is for the
distant future or you forget to note the date of the event. As a result, my
Windows Mobile phone (synced with Outlook) often wakes me up in the middle of
the night when an Event Reminder goes off 18 hours before the event.

When an accepted invitation is opened, there is the option of adding the
Reminder command to the Quick Access Toolbar, but not in an invitation that
has not yet been accepted.

Is this a feature that I'm just not understanding? Or is there some way to
change the Reminder on an inventation before it is saved to the Calendar?

And as a general note, shouldn’t all the commands that apply to a given
Outlook function be available for the Quick Access Toolbar since the ribbons
are not customizable? I’ve also found that the AutoCorrect Options command
is not available to add to the Outlook email editor Quick Access Toolbar.
