You don't Microsoft decided you did not need to do that.
After Publisher 97 Microsoft ripped out all the defaults as they decided for
you that you had no use for that feature. I am alarmed that you are
questioning Microsoft's decision made for you - UNBELIEVABLE who do you
think you are.
Publisher 2003 still does not have defaults returned, but does have an
add-in that saves it for that file for that session. This puts a toolbar up
that makes a new Text Frame with the defaults you have set. You then need
to drag that Text Frame to the required place and re-size the Text Frame.
Yes, it does work the add-in, but also find it incredible Microsoft did not
add defaults back into Publisher 2003. Problem is Microsoft have zero idea
or customer interest at heart. Microsoft are only interested in your $$$.
This is the problem when there is so little competition. Overall Publisher
2003 is a good product with some excellent new features, but some amazing
and incredible bugs were left in from Publisher 2002 and no defaults added
back in.
The defaults we had in Publisher 97 was awesome, and hence why I still use
Publisher 97 like a large majority of others. All the features we desire
and need have all been in previous versions of Publisher that Microsoft have
removed. Now if that does not ring alarm bells to the standard of
management and expertise, nothing will. Take for example Publisher 98, it
was sold as a new greatest version under the sun and all Publisher 98 was,
was Publisher 97 with half the features removed - NO, I am not joking, I am
dead serious and that is 100% the truth. Millions got ripped-off by
Microsoft world wide.
